Social work as a practical activity. Practical recommendations for social work specialists and social workers on conducting communication modules methodological manual Practical tasks in the specialty social work

Conflict situations in social work can arise through the fault of social workers, managers, clients of the sphere social work.

Conflict situations in social work through the fault of social workers most often arise as a result of the manifestation of callousness, formalism on the part of the staff, rude treatment of visitors, unfair accusations against visitors of the desire to profit at the expense of the state and for other reasons.

Conflict situations through the fault of social work managers arise as a result of improper organization of assistance in the course of social work, in particular, theft of budget funds allocated for assistance in this area, artificial creation huge queues, bureaucratization of the organization of assistance, as a result of which clients are forced to repeatedly go to various authorities to resolve one issue. Conflict situations are caused, for example, by the costs of organizing the issuance or confirmation of the right to receive benefits and subsidies for paying for an apartment and housing and communal services. Due to the imperfection of the software computer information visitors are forced to come 3 or even 4 times to a social institution to resolve their issue. Conflict situations are caused, for example, by the costs of producing a single transport card and other social cards: the conductor does not read the terminal, there are no replenishments at the cash desk of the housing department. And in this case, visitors are forced to come several times, wait and, most importantly, bear high and unjustified transportation costs until the situation is sorted out. In this regard, the social worker acts as an object of irritation on the part of the visitor.

However, conflicts also arise due to visitors due to the unsatisfactory condition of their physical and mental health, inappropriate behavior in the framework of interaction with a social worker.

Let us give as an example the most common types of conflict situations of this kind.

Social assistance at home for lonely elderly and sick people (from 80 years and older):

- mistrust of the social worker;

) - complaints about the slowness of the work of the social worker;

Complaints about the long processing time of free medicines;

Unfounded accusations of a social worker of stealing things and money: in fact, using the state of a person, money or things can be taken over by neighbors, relatives;

Complaints about lateness of social workers. Unemployed:

- rude, offended by a social worker when he tries to offer a job instead of applying for unemployment benefits;

They accuse the social worker of being soulless, not taking into account their suffering, the inability to engage in productive work;

Conflict situations when an applicant is denied unemployment benefits or social benefits in cases where, by law, he is not entitled to them.

The poor, pensioners, labor veterans- visitors to welfare departments and social payments:

The social worker is the object of irritation and anger on the part of visitors due to bureaucratic red tape in the field of social work;

Conflict situations arise in connection with the huge human flows for the registration of certain types of social assistance, when visitors are forced to queue at the institution at almost 6 o'clock in the morning. Social workers are physically unable to cope with the high workload. Visitors show natural irritation and anger.

TASK 3

Irina, a graduate of a social university, got a job in one of the maternity hospitals. She had a very hard time. The Social Worker is fairly new and unusual phenomenon in a medical facility. The doctors did not express their great affection for her and did not understand why she was needed here without medical education. Some of them, not only with distrust, but even with contempt, watched her communication with patients and their relatives. In addition, she drew attention to the fact that some male obstetricians are disrespectful not only to her, but to all women working there. One doctor often made fun of her very offensively, told obscene anecdotes, and sometimes just threw barbs that called into question her professionalism. One of the nurses advised Irina to talk frankly with this doctor and tell him everything she thought about him. But Irina considers the following: “I think this will not bring me anything good. I'd rather prove with my work that I can help unfortunate women, especially those who have nowhere to go with a child and they want to give it up. Then the doctors will understand that if they treat the body of a woman and her child, then I am their soul. It is better to ignore stupid jokes and just ignore them than to create conflict situation which will lead to nothing good."

Reply to next questions:

Is it possible to agree with Irina in everything? She speaks from the position of the so-called common sense and does not want to conflict with anyone. But doesn't she hide her head in the sand like an ostrich?

Do you agree with the proposed vision of the prospects for the development of the situation?

What actions need to be taken to resolve this situation?

What would you suggest Irina do to solve her problem?

What type of social adaptation will take place in this case?

TASK 4

Tamara, a journalist, lost her prestigious job in one of the national newspapers. Although she was fired due to redundancy, but many said that because of her quarrelsomeness and desire to constantly question the orders of her superiors. Currently, Tamara, having registered at the labor exchange, receives unemployment benefits, prepares meals for her adult son and writes commissioned articles for various newspapers and magazines. Her goal is to get a job in one of the decent newspapers. To do this, she must start looking for work and going to interviews. But often she simply refuses to go to interviews already during a telephone invitation. She herself tried to analyze the reasons for this and found that she was dissatisfied with her appearance- gray and unkempt hair, lack of makeup, jeans that she wears for her son. Whenever she has to go to another interview, she finds herself unprepared for it for the above reasons. In addition, on the day of the interview, something is sure to happen to her - a friend gets sick, taps flow, new furniture is brought, etc.

Determine what measures of social rehabilitation Tamara needs in this situation and why.

How can Tamara get out of this difficult life situation?

Algorithms for performing practical tasks

1. Algorithm for compiling a "concept tree"

The concept works in the following way. All meanings are written out for the word under study from all dictionaries, and thus the first row of the "tree" is filled. From the first row, you need to highlight the meanings of the word that are of interest to you, the meanings of which must be written out again from the dictionaries - this is how the second row of the “tree” is built. And so on until satisfaction of interest in this concept.

To build a means of independent knowledge search, named by its author, prof. K.Ya. Vazina, the “tree of the concept”, it is necessary to define a word for research. Next, you should arm yourself with dictionaries: " explanatory dictionary living Great Russian language” V.I. Dahl (required!), Any explanatory dictionary, for example, “Explanatory Dictionary of the Russian Language” by S.I. Ozhegova and N.Yu. Shvedova, a dictionary of foreign words (if the word is of foreign origin), etymological, encyclopedic and other dictionaries, Internet resources.

Conclusion:

The conclusion should include answers to the following questions:

1. Why did you choose this particular word for the study (determining the purpose of the study)?

2. What new meanings of the word under study were obtained in the process of constructing the “concept tree”, how did they deepen, clarify, change your understanding of the word?

3. Are there contradictory, at first glance, mutually exclusive definitions in the "tree of concepts"? What might their presence indicate? How can they be "connected"?

4. Does the "tree of concept" include a value, worldview component? ways of active comprehension, mastering the meaning this concept?

5. What is your “new” understanding of the meaning of the word under study?

2. Algorithm for performing educational and research work

Educational research on a specific topic has the following structure:

- Justification of the relevance of the topic. This section reflects your search - why this topic is really interesting, what is the purpose of your research, what methods and approaches you intend to implement. This section examines the current state of affairs in relation to the research problem, the scale and global nature of the theory of the issue, as well as the state of affairs in the practice of the topic.

- Content . A list consisting of an introduction, titles of items (paragraphs) of the study, conclusion, list of used literature and applications indicating their position on the pages in the work.

- Introduction. Here, the research program itself is reflected literally point by point, the goal and objectives of the research are set, research methods are determined, the object of research, its novelty and practical significance are described, and the content of the research is briefly discussed.

- Items (paragraphs) of the study. It reflects the purpose and objectives, methods and techniques for researching data processing tools. Pivot tables, graphs and charts are included. The results are analyzed and conclusions are drawn.

- Conclusion. "Answer to the Introduction". Brief answers to the tasks set at the beginning of the study. The main conclusions of the study are noted.

- Bibliography. A numbered list of literary sources used in writing the work on the problem. Compiled in alphabetical order with the obligatory indication of the author, the title of the work, the city of publication, the name of the publisher, the year of publication and the number of pages.

Your work is ready! Now it remains only to protect the study, if necessary. And you will do this, since you yourself wrote it, and are accordingly very familiar with the content. Good luck!
