Project infrastructure
The field development project provides for the drilling of 208 wells at 19 well pads. The gas produced at the field will be supplied to the international market in the form of LNG, for which a gas liquefaction plant will be built, consisting of four technological lines. The infrastructure for loading LNG for export consists of an unloading rack with two berths in the port of Sabetta, equipped with ice protection facilities. LNG production on the first production line of the plant started on December 5, 2017. Yamal LNG shipped the first batch of 170 thousand cubic meters of liquefied natural gas on December 8, 2017. The port of Sabetta will be able to ship up to 17 million tons for the transportation of goods along the Northern Sea Route. The plant's capacity assumes LNG production up to 16.5 million tons, which will be achieved in the first quarter of 2019 after the launch of the second line of the plant. At the same time, it was also decided to build a fourth line for 1 million tons based on Russian technology for the production of LNG.
To date, the company has completed construction of half of the power plant capacity for the project, which could reach 376 MW. The Yamal LNG project involves 15 countries and 650 Russian enterprises. At the same time, the volume of orders in Russia has already exceeded 648 billion rubles. Approximately 32,000 people work at the facility.
And today, on December 8, the unique in its design gas tanker "Christophe de Margerie" class "Arc7", loaded with liquefied natural gas, is preparing for the first voyage to supply fuel to consumers.

Project infrastructure
The field development project provides for the drilling of 208 wells at 19 well pads. The gas produced at the field will be supplied to the international market in the form of LNG, for which a gas liquefaction plant will be built, consisting of three technological lines with a capacity of 5.5 million tons of LNG per year each. The infrastructure for loading LNG for export will consist of an unloading rack with two berths in the port of Sabetta, equipped with ice protection facilities. Reinforced ice-class tankers "Arc7" will be used for LNG transportation.
Project implementation status
The final investment decision on the project was made in December 2013, and the start of LNG production is scheduled for 2017.
The main tenders have been completed and key contracts for the supply of materials and equipment and the provision of design and construction services have been concluded. More than 95% of the LNG plant's output has been contracted. The operation of cargo berths in the port of Sabetta has begun, providing year-round delivery of construction cargo. Production drilling and construction and installation works are underway at the facilities of the LNG plant. At the end of 2016, the project was approximately 75% complete.
As part of the Yamal LNG project, it is planned to build the country's largest plant for processing and producing LNG (liquefied natural gas), capable of developing a capacity of about 16,500,000 tons annually based on the resources of the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye field.
