Introduction to oil and gas production

Where does oil come from? How is it mined and what is it processed into? How are drilling rigs built, drilled and completed wells?

All this was discussed at the course "Introduction to oil and gas production", which was held by specialists from the oil and gas division of PromResurs last week.

Although the course has ended, we will be happy to repeat it for you.

The course will be useful to you if:

We studied: Training of galvanizers

There are a little more people who have mastered a qualified specialty, Hooray!

Our specialists conducted another training for employees of the electroplating shop with the organization of theoretical and practical exercises. In the course of practical exercises, work was carried out to cover parts of complex shapes.

Now electroplating will be able to independently perform the declared work, and the company will not spend invaluable time on their training in the process of working on productive parts and will reduce the level of defects in their production.

We are waiting for everyone who has not completed the training yet!

Buy a license - what's behind it?

Very often you can find ads with a screaming headline “Buy a certificate”, “Buy a crust”, “Buy a certificate”. And this is not about buying the certificate forms themselves, but about selling a ready-made certificate in your name, which confirms the qualifications. They offer to buy everything, from a labor protection certificate, fire safety, and ending with working professions, such as a slinger, a turner, etc.

A train compiler is an employee of a railway transport enterprise responsible for the formation and disbandment of trains, various trains, and safety in the production of shunting work. The compiler of trains can be both the head of shunting movements of trains and the performer of these works. Permission to work on non-public tracks is issued to the compilers of trains of the 3rd and 4th categories, according to the ETCS. Permission to work on public tracks is issued to the compilers of trains of the 5th and 6th categories, according to the ETCS.

The train compiler in the process of work performs the following operations:

  • by radio communication, as well as by manual and sound signals, gives commands to move the shunting locomotive, SSPS with and without wagons;
  • uncoupling and coupling of wagons;
  • connecting and disconnecting brake hoses;
  • fixing the composition when it stops;
  • translation of non-centralized arrows;
  • braking of cuts (that is, regulation of the speed of movement of one wagon or a group of wagons, 1) following on the track under the action of its own weight when following from a profiled marshalling yard by means of an overthrust; 2) following on the path under the action of inertia force when the trains are disbanded by the single push method).

The train compiler, being the head of the shunting team, is obliged, before the start of the shunting movements, to bring the shunting work plan to the members of the shunting team, which, in addition to the train compiler, also includes: the locomotive driver and his assistant, turnouts on duty, speed controllers and signalmen. The train compiler is operationally subordinate to the station duty officer (DSP), the shunting dispatcher (DSC), less often the park duty officer (DSPP) or the hill duty officer (DSPG).

The main regulatory documents that the train compiler is guided by in the process of shunting work are PTE, ISI, IDP, as well as the TRA of the station at which he performs shunting work, “Regulations for negotiating the driver, chipboard and train compiler during shunting work”, “Job instruction to the compiler trains and his assistant”, as well as other instructions, orders and telegrams.

About professional responsibilities

It is also necessary to mention the duties of the compiler of trains. This specialist really has a lot of functions: in fact, the efficiency of train traffic depends on him. Here are just some of the main responsibilities of a representative of the profession in question:

  • Works on the translation of arrows, which are non-centralized.
  • Timely fencing of train cars with brake shoes.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of trains.
  • Uncoupling and hitching wagons.
  • Work when changing the composition of trains - the management of maneuvers of the locomotive. Of course, the compiler of trains has many other duties and functions. However, their number will depend only on the place of work, namely on the station itself and the region where it is located.

On the rights of the compiler of trains

The instruction of representatives of the profession in question assigns certain rights to employees. Further, only some of the most basic rights of the compiler of trains will be named. So, the employee has the right to request from the authorities the equipment necessary for work, namely:

  • special working form;
  • signal lamp;
  • yellow flag;
  • walkie-talkie and portable radio station, as well as other accessories.

The employee has the right to file a complaint if he was not given accessories in the form of overalls, safety shoes, signal elements, etc. The labor protection of the train compiler is fully based on the rights of the latter. It is worth noting that the station employee also has such an important right as accepting and finishing duty with minimal time and with the optimal rhythm of the entire station. Simply put, the start and end of work must be on time, and the specialist's working hours must not exceed the norm.

Working day: acceptance and surrender of duty

Dry listing of major professional duties if it gives an idea of the work, then the most minimal. That is why it is worth describing directly the working day of a specialist, how it looks, how it is planned. So, a train maker starts his day by receiving a safety briefing. It happens on a special glider. After that, each worker accepts the so-called "strict inventory" and a certain arrangement of wagons. The planning of all further work activities begins with the station duty officer. It includes, as a rule, checking the cars, their maintenance, coupling, uncoupling, etc.

It is also worth considering that the compiler of the trains coordinates each of his actions with the attendant on the radio. There is really a lot of work, and a representative of the profession in question will certainly not be bored. And in addition to servicing the wagons, it is necessary to prepare the trains, correctly fill out the register, check the received wagons - and always personally! Thus, the station worker really has a lot to do. The job description of the train compiler prescribes that the acceptance of duty is always established and fixed by the head of the station in accordance with all conditions and norms. Upon taking the duty, the employee is obliged to check the condition of all the cars, their location, the availability of inventory and special seals on the vehicles. The delivery of duty is carried out only after checking the trains, placing the cars in their places and ensuring security in accordance with established standards.

About ranks in the profession

As in many other professions, there are certain categories in the work of the compiler of trains.

There are four in total:

  • 3rd category. The representative of the lowest rank conducts his work in small areas of traffic on the railways, which at the same time do not have general use. Thus, the scope of activity of an employee with the third category is somewhat limited.
  • 4th category. It is characterized by the fact that its carriers must work with railway transport not in common use, but already in tense areas. Accordingly, because of this, the complexity of the work in comparison with the third category is noticeably increased.
  • 5th category. Specialists work with railway transport already in common use. However, work is being carried out in low-activity areas, that is, where specialists with a third category work.
  • 6th category. Holders of this category, the last and most difficult, work in tense areas with public rail transport.

Thus, the duties of the train compiler are very different. In addition, this classification by category allows you to build a system of relationships between superiors and subordinates. For representatives of a high rank, the authorities can issue under the leadership of workers with lower qualifications. However, this depends, again, on the station and the region where this station is located.

Where are they taught?

How do you get a job as a train maker? With the seeming simplicity of the official duties of a person from the street, they will not be hired for such work. Relevant education is required. So, where can you learn this interesting specialty? They teach it in technical schools or colleges, and you can enter there after the 9th grade. The program of the training course of the future compiler is devoted primarily to the issues of railway traffic safety and consideration of all the smallest technical nuances in this area. A significant place is given to the development of how and in what circumstances special signals are used - manual and sound.
