The content of the competition is built taking into account school curriculum. Participants complete tasks at school outside school hours during 75 minutes under the supervision of school organizers and office attendants. Competitive tasks are made for four age groups: 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-11 classes. Pupils of grades 2 can take part in the competition, but a separate version of the tasks is not provided for them, so they answer questions for grades 3-4. An important feature of the competition is the mandatory inclusion of audio materials in the tasks., on which the first 10 questions of each age option are built. Tasks for high school students may include questions about the most significant events and outstanding personalities of English-speaking countries. Such blocks become an additional means of motivation for learning the language and expanding the lexical and cultural range. Participation in the competition is voluntary. The competition is held for all comers without pre-selection. You can take part in the project on the basis of an educational organization. A student in grades 2-11 who has paid the registration fee can become a participant. The right to free participation may be granted to orphans, students of orphanages, schools attached to hospitals and sanatoriums.
Participation educational organizations in the competition is carried out through regional and national organizing committees. How is the Bulldog English Olympiad going?
All tasks are designed strictly for the level of difficulty. The material is presented in a fun and interesting way, and is adapted more for students with base level. But there are also a few tricky questions that will not be for everyone, but for those who are passionate about English. To participate in the competition, you do not have to travel three nine lands. The Bulldog Olympiad is held at the school where the child is studying. All tasks are aimed at testing the three basic aspects of the English language: grammar, reading, listening. Each participant receives a personal answer sheet and a task containing 60 questions that must be completed in 75 minutes. It is important to note that the tasks are not designed for each class, but for 4 groups:

Rules for the Olympiad
The "British Bulldog" is held directly in schools. Anyone can participate from grades 2 to 11. Participation is paid. The cost of participation, conditions, application deadlines, contacts of the organizing committee of your region can be found on the official website of the organizer.
Participants of the Olympiad are invited to answer 60 questions of varying complexity in 75 minutes. Students in grades 3 and 4 offer 10 fewer questions.
All tasks are divided into blocks, each of which is aimed at different types language activities: vocabulary, speech understanding, grammar, understanding of a coherent text.
Each participant receives a form with tasks and an answer form.
History of the British Bulldog competition
The competition was first held in 2006 in Italy and immediately gained popularity. The idea of creation belongs to the British Institutes - an English organization.
In Russia, the contest is organized by the Center for Productive Learning (St. Petersburg).
Why the British Bulldog?
The name "bulldog", that is, a bull dog, is associated with its original and immediate purpose, namely an attack on a bull. But over time, such fights were canceled. And the dog became an indispensable companion true gentleman.
Symbol of England Since the beginning of the 20th century, british bulldog became associated with the image of good old England.
