Do I need to register the seal of an individual entrepreneur with the tax service? Every entrepreneur asks himself this question. An individual entrepreneur in the course of his activity faces numerous difficulties. Organizational issues relate to almost all aspects of work.

What is a print for?

If you are registered as an individual entrepreneur, then you must decide for yourself whether you need a seal, since the laws of the Russian Federation do not provide for its mandatory presence. Any individual entrepreneur can work without printing, documents do not have to be certified by it, especially if your activity involves the presence of a cash register and you do not provide services to the public. As a rule, the seal is made within a few days. The entrepreneur himself or another person with a certified power of attorney can pick it up personally.

The design of the official seal has certain requirements. It should contain the following information:

  1. The abbreviation IP - this will prove your attitude towards economic entities, since you are the owner of a small business.
  2. Surname, name and patronymic of an individual entrepreneur that will show your activities to partners and clients as a legal and open business.
  3. The registration number (OGRNIP) on the stamp will enable anyone to check the registration information with the Federal Tax Service.
  4. An individual taxpayer number is the main tax criterion that indicates the legality of your activity and responsibility to customers.

In no case should the seal contain a double-headed eagle, since it is depicted only on the stamps of state institutions. When ordering a stamp, an individual entrepreneur may put forward requirements for its design: you can ask for a drawing or your own logo to be applied to the stamp, but such a procedure will cost a little more.

In addition to the official seal, an individual entrepreneur can order stamps. They are used to work with internal documents and contain the inscriptions "Paid", "For documents", "Cancelled". Their presence will significantly reduce the time when processing documents or contracts.

Why register a seal?

If, however, an individual entrepreneur nevertheless decided to issue his own stamp, now he is faced with the question of whether the IP seal needs to be registered with the Federal Tax Service. In this regard, the state has not yet signed laws and regulations requiring registration. And this can be called an omission.

The imprint is put on accounting documents, forms of strict reporting, payment orders. There may be cases when registering an IP seal will help resolve conflicts and even facts of fraud in favor of a businessman.

For example, an individual entrepreneur appears in court as a victim, becoming a victim of fraud by an entrepreneur or company. The scammers submitted to the court a forged document certified by the IP seal. But the state cannot trace the appearance of a stamp if, for example, an individual entrepreneur has not registered it. An individual entrepreneur may have several seals. Even if the entrepreneur decides to change it, it is not at all necessary to submit sketches of the new props to the state body. The procedure for registering a stamp is not mandatory, so if you think that this will protect you from falsification of documents, then you are mistaken. Registration will help you resolve disputable and conflict situations, but you will not be able to avoid falsification of documents.

How is the registration?

Officially, the Federal Tax Service does not keep records of seals, so the decision to register them is voluntary. But the tax service still has a register of stamps, which contains:

  • information about the details of the IP seal;
  • the date of its manufacture or destruction;
  • print sample;
  • IP signature sample.

If an individual entrepreneur has expressed a desire to register a stamp, then for this he must contact the Federal Tax Service.

In addition to the Tax Service, the seal must be registered with the following authorities:

  2. Department of the Interior.
  3. Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
  4. Register of the manufacturer.

As you can see, the IP does not require any complicated steps to register the seal. In addition, the procedure occurs solely at the request of the entrepreneur himself.
