The theater begins with a hanger, and the renovation of an apartment begins with an elevator.

Consider some secrets of using a freight elevator. Why secrets? Yes, because in the most popular elevators in Moscow and the Moscow region - the Shcherbinsky Elevator Plant - there is no instruction for using the elevator. Only the maximum load capacity is indicated, and the rest is a secret.

Through numerous trial and error, the following instruction was created, which I present to your attention:
Secret 1st:
The freight elevator has a small fixed leaf - movable! It can be opened manually! To do this, you need to lift the lever located between the outer and inner small doors at a height of about 1 m from the floor. Then, holding the lever in the raised position, you should press the sash and slide it until it stops.

Ready! Now the maximum length of transported long lengths has increased to 295 cm.

But 3-meter galvanized profiles do not pass. Apparently this was done intentionally so that the profiles do not scratch the cabin.

Sheet material, though not longer than 220cm. But still better than 200. Also, you can load a standard size metal door and much more without any problems.

If it is not possible to raise the lever, then this means that the management company has blocked it. Usually this is done in houses where repairs have already ended.

In this case, you can contact management company so that they unlock the door on the day of loading.

Secret 2nd:
A permanently closing elevator door can be locked in the open position with a button OTM. Sometimes it is not signed at all. A simple push on it returns the door to the open position for a few seconds. But we need it to stand open for a few minutes.

To do this, hold this button pressed for 8 seconds.. (In some models, this time is 15 seconds). The indicator blinked - great! We have achieved our goal. If the indicator does not respond - and this happens - just wait a few seconds. If the door does not close, everything is in order, the task is completed. If it closes, we try to do this with some other similar button. Personally, I have always succeeded.

But keep in mind that as soon as you get out of the elevator, the door lock will immediately be reset, and the door will safely close. It has been experimentally established that in order to hold the lock, it is necessary to have a load in the elevator of at least 40 kg. The figure may vary in each case, but the essence is clear.

There is another barbaric way to block the door - to put a board on the threshold of the elevator so that the closing door rests on it and comes back. One elevator attendant said that this eventually leads to the elevator shutting down. Somehow I didn't want to check.

With an overload, everything is clear - the light is on, the elevator will not go.

Attention! Followed by a text with a recommendation: “In case you don’t have time to press the button to open the door,” he inserted his boot into the opening, the door will be pressed and released. I don’t recommend inserting a knee or a shin, and even more so a hand - sometimes it presses quite noticeably. ” Thanks to Roman's remark, stated in the comment dated 10/25/13, I make an amendment:

Before you try to stop the elevator with your hand or foot, it will not be superfluous to check the operation of the interference sensor in the doorway. It is desirable to do this with any elevator that you have to deal with.

Why? - The fact is that not only you use the elevator, but also other people, including children. And such a breakdown of the sensor can have tragic consequences.

So, the sooner a breakdown is detected, the better for everyone.

It is very simple to make this check - it is enough to place some non-valuable object between the closing doors, which will prevent the doors from closing at least a couple of centimeters.

If the doors did not open at the same time, then you should immediately call the dispatch service and report a breakdown, and before the arrival of the repair team, do not allow children to use the elevator without adult supervision.

In the latest models of elevators, there are optical sensors that block the closing of doors in the presence of interference in the opening. They are located in the middle and at the bottom of the door. Or the entire height of the door.

In this case, it is enough to close the beam from the sensor with your hand, and the door will stop.

And even while moving, if you close this sensor, the elevator will stop at the nearest floor, open the door and wait until you get out of it. Only after you left, you can go back and press the button of the desired floor to continue moving.

The 5th secret is also associated with optical sensors.

Secret 3rd:

There is another problem that can be encountered: it can be impossible for one person to call service lift. A passenger one will arrive instead, you ride it to the first floor, there you look at the indicator on which floor the cargo is on, you go there, get out of the elevator, press the call button - the passenger one opens again. You send him to the first floor - he does not want to go empty. What is called, "arrived."

Here I suggest 2 ways out of the situation:

1st - Always have a bag with concrete breakage in stock, weighing 40 kg. You put him in a passenger elevator and send him to another floor, calling a freight one after his departure. (Do not forget to pick up this bag later). If a passenger arrived again - send it "away", otherwise these elevators where it is not necessary - "smart" - calculate which one will reach faster - that one will arrive.

2nd - Drive off to the floor above or below, and then return on foot and call the elevator. The closest one should open.

In some models of elevators, another 3rd method works:

Go inside the passenger cabin, press the OTM button and hold it for 8 seconds. The elevator should go into loading mode, which will be indicated by the indicator, or the door will simply stop closing.

Next, you need to manage and, without leaving the cab, reach out to the elevator call button. If at the same time the freight elevator has volunteered, which will be indicated by the indication or it will simply be heard that it has gone, then you need to wait for it without leaving the passenger elevator cabin. If you didn’t go, then this method is not suitable here.

Secret 4th:

To speed up the closing of the door in many elevators there is a button >|<. Там, где её нет, можно попробовать повторно нажать кнопку нужного Вам этажа. В некоторых лифтах это действие приводило к нужному результату.

Secret 5th:

Recently, more and more elevators began to be equipped with optical sensors of the door zone. If at the moment of closing the door you or your building material falls into the sensor coverage area (near the door plane), the door will not close. Sometimes you can’t immediately figure out what’s the matter, and the operation indication is not informative.

Another way to keep the elevator door open is to block the sensor with any object. For example, seal with masking tape. After loading, remove the adhesive tape and you can go.

In some elite-class houses, elevators operate according to the scheme: three passenger elevators - one freight elevator.

The freight elevator in this case is configured to automatically open the door after arriving at the desired floor. That is, the elevator arrived, the door opened and will no longer close on its own.

It is very convenient for loading and unloading. The only negative is that the elevator will remain on your floor after unloading, unless you send it to the first floor by pressing the appropriate button. Unlike other elevators, even if it is not loaded, it will still go.

And there, on the ground floor, he is always with the door open.

This must be done, at least out of courtesy to other residents - they will no longer be able to call a freight elevator. They will have to go first to the first floor, see which floor the freight elevator is on, go to your floor, transfer to the freight elevator and go to their floor. Which, you see, is a bit disappointing.

In conclusion, I will add that you need to place the load in the middle of the elevator so that the load is uniform. Maintain cleanliness and order - I don’t even remind you.

I will help to save SVDN (effort, time, money and nerves)! Stanislav Plitochkin was with you.

It’s just that you can’t put anything into a closing elevator - if the sensor is faulty, it can first have a bite, and then go. And this happens.

Hello! Thanks for your Secrets. I have a question: what if the freight elevator does not lift a person weighing 42 kg, all the time to wait for a passenger one? I will be grateful for the answer.

  1. A very good article. I, working at one time as a loader, knew a joke with a lever in a small sash, and the guys looked at me as if they were GOD.
And also, IMHO, it’s complete foolishness to make one call button for passenger and freight elevators (I’ve seen separate ones a few times), because of this, you have to perform the dances described here with a tambourine.

Another note about holding the elevator by locking doors without optical sensors.
During the move of my brother, the elevator with things closed after 5 or more (I don’t remember already) blocking with my hand. Well, they just didn’t have time to put their hands up again.
The elevator operator who arrived explained that a relay had worked there, which was set to a certain number of “jamming” doors. He said not to do this again, but to use the CANCEL button in the elevator or the button to open the doors.

hello thanks for the advice I am not a sighted person in my house an Otis passenger elevator please tell me if it is possible to adjust the closing of the door so that there is more time for landing thank you please send an answer to the email please [email protected] and why, after the arrival of the elevator, it does not immediately open thank you letter from St. Petersburg

    • Hello Sergey! I have to admit, I'm not an elevator expert. This manual was created by me based on empirical experience using various elevators. I would assume that all modern elevators are equipped with an adjustable door closing timer, and even more so Otis. In any case, it is better for you to contact the service company - they will explain everything and do what you need. I duplicated the answer on gmail.

  2. If the elevator arrived, but continue to press the call button, the second one will arrive.

I found it by accident (a truck on my floor broke down, I pressed for a minute out of anger (a child in a stroller), a second one arrived.
Then I checked - the cargo one also volunteered when the passenger one was standing.

A freight elevator should arrive by double pressing the call button - this is incorporated in almost all modern elevators. If this is not the case, it is likely that the numbers of the elevators in the group need to be changed and everything will work. Also, if the cargo does not arrive, you need to go higher on the passenger one than the cargo one - and the cargo one will go down to the first one itself - the self-timer is called. If the passenger does not want to ride empty on orders, then he has a 15 kg sensor connected. - you can agree with the mechanic, and he will turn off this sensor - and the elevator will take orders.

And it’s definitely not necessary to live the boards in the door - after the eighth reverse of the doors - most likely the elevator will get up with an error. The mistake is called eight reverses ....

    • To turn off the loading mode, it is enough to release the elevator and return the retractable small sash to its original position. After that, the elevator should turn on by itself and the large sash will close. If this does not happen, you need to try pressing the button for the first floor. The elevator should close and leave. If after that the doors did not close, then most likely the elevator was turned off due to a multiple reverse error. In this case, you need to call a specialist from the service company.

      • Yep, checked today. If the elevator is released, the mode will turn off. But we sheathed the elevator with plywood, so now there is always cargo in the cabin. Therefore, it helps to send the elevator to the next floor.
        Thank you.

  3. Good afternoon, I have such a question, a KONE 1t elevator is installed in my house. for 16 people, the question is how to transfer it to the loading mode, it is very necessary, thank you very much!

    • Good day, Sergey! Unfortunately, I can't say anything about this model of the elevator. I had no experience with them. If the above methods are not suitable, try contacting the service company, they can give you an answer by phone.
I would be grateful if you share your solution!

We have recently installed SCHLZ elevators, new ones, but there is no “OTM” button, when you make a mistake with the floor button, you have to go to an unnecessary floor. Can you please advise how I can cancel the selected floors, thanks in advance!

    • To be honest, this is the first time I've heard of this...
Offhand, I can suggest the following way:
while the elevator is in motion, press the button for the next floor in the direction. On it, the elevator will stop and open the door. At this point, exit the elevator and enter again. The incorrectly selected floor should be reset. Press yours and keep moving.

Thanks for the advice! In general, the developers, if microprocessors are used, are also a problem with calling a freight elevator, for example, they could program the call button for a long press so that the freight one comes. - something not very much. Maybe this is done to save money?

“If the elevator arrived, but continue to press the call button, the second one will arrive.
I found it by accident (a truck on my floor broke down, I pressed for a minute out of anger (a child in a stroller), a second one arrived.
Then I checked - the cargo one also volunteered when the passenger one was standing.
In our case, it does not roll.

“Go inside the passenger cabin, press the OTM button and hold it for 8 seconds. The elevator should go into loading mode, which will be indicated by the indicator, or the door will simply stop closing.

Next, you need to manage and, without leaving the cab, reach out to the elevator call button. If at the same time the freight elevator volunteered, which will be indicated by the indication or it will simply be heard that it has gone, then you need to wait for it without leaving the passenger elevator cabin.
And here it is, thanks a lot!

I live in a new building, the house is 3 years old. There is one freight elevator at the entrance, it always works properly. Today I went into the entrance, the scoreboard shows the 9th floor, just ahead of me the neighbors from the 9th floor got up, relations with whom are unfriendly. I press the call button, but it does not respond and does not light up. Question: Is it possible to block the call button by pressing some buttons in the cockpit, or is it possible to turn off the power supply in addition to the engine room?

Elevators said that when pressing the "Cancel" button in the elevator, the call buttons on other floors stop responding to pressing. Haven't checked it myself yet.

  4. The freight elevator starts moving after 3-5 times opening and closing the doors. WHAT TO DO. And the button to call the dispatcher does not work. HOW TO BE?

    • This happens with Shcherbinsky elevators. Of course, you cannot use such an elevator. It is urgent to call a mechanic and try not to let anyone into the elevator (especially children) until the master arrives. If the button to call the dispatcher does not work, you need to try to find the telephone number of the dispatcher. It is written on the wall of the elevator, or on the information stand at the entrance. If you have a smartphone, you can look on the Internet by scoring the address. Another option is to call the Management Company or the chairman of the HOA - they can also help to contact the dispatcher. In general, if you live or often visit a house with an elevator, then it is useful to save these contacts on your phone.

  5. Good day. The topic is old but relevant at all times. I have the following problem in the house associated with waiting for the elevator. The picture is as follows: approaching the elevator on the first floor, I press the call button, raise my eyes to the indicators, I see the passenger elevator is on the 2nd or 3rd floor, the cargo elevator with passengers is already going from the 16th to the first, passenger does not try to come, because another elevator and so goes to the first one. And he, as luck would have it, stops at the intermediate floors so that more passengers enter. How to achieve that a small elevator arrives, despite the cargo one ???

    • Greetings, Dmitry! I agree, the issue is real. I don't have a ready solution. In the long run, I'm sure they'll come up with something. Today, I can offer to reprogram the elevators to the program described at the end of the article, where the freight elevator must be forced down. If the tenants in the entrance are adequate, then it will always stand on the ground floor with the door open. You need to go urgently, please go, but just don't forget to send him to the first floor later. True, in this case, when leaving the upper floor, you may have to wait, because if the passenger elevator is busy, then the freight elevator will not arrive on call.

      • No, we just have 2 elevators. One standard, the other cargo. When calling from any floor, the nearest one goes, but if the button for the first floor is already pressed in some elevator, then the other one will not go there. An example from experience, tested with a neighbor: “Petya” on the 16th floor presses in the elevator to the first floor, then he goes down the elevator picks up everyone along the way, then he also called the elevator on his floor, in the morning, when all the neighbors go to work, and I'm just returning to the example from walking the dog, you have to wait until one elevator descends from 16, stopping at 15,10,7,4,3 floors, when the second elevator stupidly stands on the 2nd.

How to spoil or disable the freight elevator? The fact is that our apartment is adjacent to a freight elevator, and it is very noisy. Passenger and freight elevators have separate call buttons. Passengers and business always press both at once. Both elevators are called every time (just in case!). Trying to talk to them, to the commandant, or to post an ad-request to no avail. There are small children in the house who wake up at night from the noise of the elevator. I want to quietly turn it off or break it. How can this be done???

    • The question is interesting. Never thought about it. Maybe, for starters, try to attach signs over the call buttons for the freight elevator with a polite request not to call the elevator at night?

Most Muscovites can no longer imagine their home without a convenient means of transportation - an elevator.

To date, in Moscow, the replacement of elevators is carried out as part of the regional overhaul program. Elevators that have served 25 years are eligible for replacement.

Today it is the largest elevator project in Russia. However, with improper operation, even a new elevator can fail.

How metropolitan elevators are being changed: standards

In 2018, the city should not be left with morally and physically obsolete elevator equipment, that is, elevators older than 25 years. First of all, equipment with hinged doors and elevators in frame-attached shafts will be replaced.

The service life of the elevator is 25 years, after which diagnostics are carried out and a decision is made whether to replace the elevator or renew the permit for its operation. Replacement costs are paid by the Capital Repair Fund of the City of Moscow.

From the beginning of the implementation of the regional capital repair program in 2015 until the end of this year, the Capital Repair Fund of the city of Moscow will replace more than 11,000 elevators. In total, more than 24 thousand lifts have been completely replaced since 2011. In 2017 alone, more than 5,000 lifts will be replaced in more than 1,080 homes.

New elevators must meet modern requirements for safety, comfort and energy efficiency.

New cabins that appear in Moscow entrances must be vandal-proof: the coating of the panels makes it easy to wash off the drawings. Buttons in such elevators cannot be cut or set on fire, and light bulbs cannot be unscrewed. New models of elevators are more convenient for people with disabilities. The floor numbers on the buttons are marked with Braille symbols and there is an audible notification of the arrival on the floor.

Security issues are also considered in more detail. For example, a photocell that detects a foreign object and prevents the elevator from closing is now located along the entire height of the doors.

The timing of installation of equipment for each building is individual. If the house has up to 12 floors, then the installation will take about 45-55 calendar working days, for houses from 13 to 17 floors this period will be 55-75 days.

When fears are not unfounded

Rattling and rattling are often the first symptoms of an elevator failure. This can be caused by aging parts and deformations. With their concerns, residents can contact the management company or the HOA and ask to check the elevator.

If the elevator starts to twitch, hang between floors and stop noticeably above or below the floor area, then its further operation is unsafe. It also clearly requires repair when the buttons stick and the light flashes.

From handling to start-up: who and how should repair elevators

Management companies are now responsible for the condition of elevators in the capital. They conclude a contract with a company specializing in the maintenance of elevators, and monitor the progress of work. The largest such firms are OJSC Moslift, LLC Praktika, LLC Podyom, LLC First Lift Company and OJSC MOS OTIS.

In the event of a sudden breakdown of the elevator due to fire, flooding, theft, natural disaster or vandalism, unscheduled repairs are carried out.

A description of damage and an estimate of work are provided by contractors to the HOA, housing cooperative or management company within one working day. Further, the district council is notified about the accident and a joint commission is created to inspect the elevator. According to its results, a state contract should be concluded within three working days, and only then the repair begins.

Emergency repair includes the replacement of one or more parts: winch or electric motor of the main drive, hydraulic drive, cab door drive, push-button stations, cab and its components, support rollers, shaft and cab doors, control station, safety devices, frequency converter, tensioner , speed limiter.

To exclude accidents due to technical condition, annual technical inspections are carried out, as well as repair and scheduled maintenance of elevators. The latest generation elevators are equipped with microprocessor control systems. A technical inspection is carried out on them monthly, and a special device allows the electrician to quickly analyze the state of the entire system.

Residents do not have to pay separately for the maintenance of elevators. These costs are already included in a single payment document.

Where to complain about a faulty elevator

You can report malfunctions and extraneous sounds in the elevator to the control room of your management company or HOA. You can determine who exactly manages the house and find out contact details through the website of the House of Moscow.

You can also team up with your neighbors and bring written statements to the office. In this case, employees will have to take the problem of tenants more seriously.

If the management company delays the repair time or does not respond to complaints at all, then this should be reported to the district council and the Moscow Housing Inspection. You can complain through the electronic reception or at a personal meeting with the head of the district inspection. After considering the complaint, the Moscow Housing Inspection will oblige the management company to eliminate the malfunctions.

It is worth remembering that the managing organization is responsible for the provision of all services and for the proper maintenance, safety and technical condition of all common property (including elevators) of an apartment building. The management company is responsible for the condition of the cabin inside (mirrors, cleanliness) and the operation of the elevator.

NATIONAL STANDARD OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Control devices, alarms and accessories

lifts. Control devices, signals and additional fittings

Introduction date - 2010-07-01

1 area of use

This International Standard specifies requirements for control devices, pushbuttons and signaling devices for elevators, taking into account the type of control systems and the conditions of use.

The requirements of the standard apply to control devices, alarms and handrails, which are equipped with new elevators.

The standard can be used as a basis for the modernization of existing elevators.

The standard does not establish requirements for:

Elevators with internal, external, simple mixed control;

Special control devices and signaling devices for hospital elevators, firefighters elevators, voice control devices and touch control screens;

Any devices for increasing the carrying capacity of elevators with automatic doors (control of time delays, door closing buttons, optical means of controlling the doorway, etc.);

Additional devices that the manufacturer may introduce to improve the passenger service of group elevator installations (for example, signals such as “next car”, “do not stand in the doorway”).

This International Standard can be used as a guide for the development and implementation of additional signals.

2 Normative references

This standard uses normative reference to:

4.1 Types of control systems

4.1.1 One-way mixed collective control when moving down

A call on the floor areas is registered by pressing the call buttons located on each floor. If the cabin is free (stands on any floor and does not have registered orders in the cockpit or a call from the floors) or moves down, she will be sent to the highest call or nearest call in direction of travel and then to the received floor calls in the direction of the cabin movement to the main boarding floor. Orders given in the cockpit are recorded and executed in a logical sequence in the direction of travel.

This control system is applied when the passenger flow between the upper floors is negligible - passengers use the elevator to move from the main boarding floor to the required floor and from a certain floor to the main boarding floor (there is no more than one floor below the main boarding floor).

The system provides for the installation of one call button on each floor and can be used for single or group installation of elevators.

If there is more than one floor below the main landing floor, a combination of a one-way collective control system when moving down and a one-way collective control when moving up is used to serve the floors below the landing one.

4.1.2 Bilateral mixed collective control

This control system provides for the installation of two call buttons on each intermediate floor: one button for calling the cabin for the passenger's trip down, and the other for the trip up. On the outer floors, one call button is installed.

Calls from the floors and orders from the cabin are registered and executed in a logical sequence in the direction of movement of the cabin. The direction of movement does not change until the last order (call) is executed that does not require a change in direction of movement. Such a control system is used in the presence of interfloor passenger traffic up and down, served by a single elevator or a group elevator installation.

4.1.3 Control to destination floor

A description of the control to the destination floor is given in the appendix.

4.1.4 Group elevator control system

The group elevator control system consists of elevators that have a common system for making calls from floors.

The elevator group control system can be equipped with one-way collective control when moving down, two-way collective control or control to the destination floor.

The control to the destination floor, which uses dial control devices, is described in the appendix.

4.1.5 Scanning system for registering orders in the cockpit

The scanning system for registering orders in the cockpit is used in cases where, for some special requirements, it is impossible to use conventional control systems.

The selection of the destination floor is carried out by short or long pressing of one or two special buttons (up and down scanning buttons):

The scan up button is for selecting the destination floor above the floor where the car is located;

The scan down button is for selecting the destination floor below the floor where the car is located.

When the up or down scanning button is pressed for more than 2 seconds, the last selected destination floor is registered as an order.

Scanning up and down buttons are located in the immediate vicinity or directly above the personnel call buttons.

4.2 Control devices

4.2.1 Floor controls

4.2.1.1 One-way mixed collective control when moving down

The control post on each floor is equipped with one call button (labeling is not required).

If the elevator serves floors located above and more than one below the main landing floor, the control station on the main landing floor is equipped with two call buttons marked with the symbols ▲ and ▼ (see table , item , appendix ).

4.2.1.2 Bilateral mixed collective control

On each intermediate floor, the control post is equipped with two call buttons, one of which is marked with the symbol ▲, and the other with the symbol ▼ (see table , item , appendix ).

On the extreme upper and lower floors, the control station is equipped with one call button, which is marked with the symbol ▼ on the upper floor, and the symbol ▲ on the lower floor.

4.2.1.3 Control devices for a group lift installation
